Campaign Update
As we
approach the midpoint of the summer, we are also approaching the midpoint of
our goal to raise $12,000 to help us get Terre Foods off the ground. So far we
have received donations of $3200 from the community and $1800 from the Steering
Committee. The band Cuba donated more than $500 from their concert at the Verve
in May, and we have made $700 from selling T-shirts and tote bags.
In total, we
have raised just over $6000. After deducting our cost for T-shirts and tote
bags, our net is right around $5000. We have a long way to go, but we are
confident we will be able to commission a market feasibility study in a few
months.
Our next
fundraising event will be a "From Field to Fork" dinner hosted by ButtonWoods
at Sycamore Farm on Saturday, August 9. The dinner will feature a five-course menu with wine pairings created by Chef Chris Kraut and highlighting the finest of our local farmer's goods. A portion of the proceeds from this
event will be donated to Terre Foods and there also will be a silent auction.
You will be seeing a lot more information about this soon, but the cost is $75

for our booth at the Downtown Farmers' Market and at other events throughout
the summer. Stop by to say "hello" and buy a T-shirt or tote bag.
