The American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) at Johns Hopkins University, cordially invites you to a workshop on:

A Model System versus a Mediocre System?
A Comparison of Muslim Immigration and Integration in the U.S. and Germany

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Service Employee International Union (SEIU)
1800 Massachusetts Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20036

The workshop, which is part of a larger project on Muslim integration and builds on AICGS' previous work on religion and politics, will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009, from 9:00am to 3:30pm at the Service Employees International Union (1800 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20036). A detailed workshop agenda is available here for your information. Please note that the proceedings will be off the record.

Bringing together an interdisciplinary group of scholars and experts from Germany, Europe, and the United States, this workshop discusses socio-economic, political, and foreign policy dimensions of Muslim integration in the U.S. and in Germany.

AICGS is a Washington-based, independent, non-profit public policy organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University that works in Germany and the United States to address current and emerging policy challenges in the German-American and transatlantic relationships.

Please contact Jessica Riester to RSVP by email (jriester@aicgs.org) or phone (202-332-9312 ext.125) or if you have any questions. We hope you will be able to join us for what we believe will be an engaging and thoughtful discussion of very timely issues.
