and whilst we are on the subject of headsets, The Pilot Shop visited the beyerdynamic factory in Heilbronn, Germany, last month. Beyerdynamic may not be the biggest player in the headset market but they certainly have big ambitions.
In these days of mass production it was interesting to see that beyerdynamic maintain a strong personal element. Each headset is assembled by one person taking up to 4 hours per headset depending on the model - and each headset sold can always be traced back to one employee so the level of personal responsibility and pride in the product really is very high. Beyerdynamic produce 95% of the components used in house - including all plastic mouldings, microphones, speakers and PCBs'. |

Take part in our photo competition....
It could not be simpler - buy a Ko and photograph Ko in any environment you like - but make it the best photograph you have ever taken! You can buy Ko online at Stichting Hoogvliegers and The Pilot Shop. All proceeds from the sale of Ko go to Stichting Hoogvliegers.
Send your entries to ko@pilotshop.nl. Closing date for this competition is Saturday 16 april 2011.
On Saturday 7th May 2011 we will announce the winners during "The Pilot Shop's OpenHouse" where the best photos will be on display. The three winners will each receive a voucher to the value of € 250,--, to be spent in The Pilot Shop.
Ko Piloot is the mascot of the Stichting Hoogvliegers. For more information about the work of Stichting Hoogvliegers surf to www.stichtinghoogvliegers.nl . They really makes a difference and can only continue with the support of sponsors and pilots. The expression on the faces of these children after they have flown an aircraft themselves speaks volumes and is a fantastic reward for the pilots who donate their time and aircraft to make it all possible.
