 Bose X Headset
Continuing our birthday celebrations we are delighted that BOSE have donated a Bose® Aviation Headset X™ as prize for our next quiz.
Bose Corporation was founded in 1964 by Dr. Amar G. Bose, then professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As a student at MIT he developed and patented new technologies. Supported by MIT he used these patents to found his own company. Nowadays Bose Corporation is a private multinational business. Under the leadership of Dr. Bose, chairman and technical director, 100% of the profit is re-invested in the growth and development of the company.
Bose maintains an exceptionally strong commitment to research, for it is within the discipline of research that yesterday's fiction becomes tomorrow's reality. They strive to identify things which, when made better, improve people's lives.
But it's more than just research. Bose aim for excellence in everything they do. From the way they run their business to their customer service. From the products to the owner's manuals you'll use to set them up. In everything they do, Bose truly believes that "good enough" is merely a starting point.
In 1986 Bose introduced the technology which is currently used in the Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Bose headsets. This technology drastically reduces unwanted noise and improves acoustic qualities and was ultimately used in aviation headsets. The headsets are especially popular with pilots, military personnel and musicians. These days you will find Bose products anywhere where sound quality is of importance - the Olympic Games, the Sistine Chapel, in NASA spacecraft, the Japanese National Theater and by thousands of ordinary people, both at home and on the road.
Now you can win your own Bose® Aviation Headset X™. Just answer these simple questions. No purchase is required.
Closing date is midnight on the 28th February. A winner will be drawn from the correct entries and announced in our March newsletter. The prize may not be exchanged for cash or any other article, the judges decision is final and we will not enter into correspondence regarding the judges decision.

Jeppesen VFR/GPS Charts
Designed for today's pilots using today's navigation tools, Jeppesen enhanced VFR+GPS charts offer a fresh perspective on what a VFR chart should be with intuitive symbols and colors, better coverage areas and an emphasis on GPS navigation. Whether you fly in North America, Europe or South Africa Jeppesen VFR+GPS charts will provide you a common format for VFR navigation that is easier to use and easier to read in the air or on the ground.
Jeppesen consulted pilots throughout Europe and the USA before re-designing the charts. Pilot-preferred features of the new charts include increased readability through improved depiction of terrain and enhanced symbols. An increase to each chart's coverage area reduces the number of charts necessary for flight. The improved VFR+GPS chart also introduces a new folding system to ease handling in the cockpit.
