Okay, this isn't really "local" information, but it is an issue that affects us all, so we're including it for you. We've just tested it ourselves and the national do-not-call list is back up and running after being out of commission for most of Tuesday - its first day - as a huge number of people tried to register.
The  rush to register overwhelmed the website and phone lines shortly after the list went active. But its back up now - so if you are hoping to get yourself registered, we've added the link for you. Just click on the logo to go to the site. | |

Closing Up The Cottage?
 The next few weekends will likely be set aside for the chore of closing up the family cottage for the winter months ahead. Each cottage owner will likely have their own checklist of things to do to ensure their cottage is closed down properly and to enable an easy opening in the spring. "Love Your Library" Month Continues!
 Its Day 2 and below is just a short list of programs being offered by the Caledon Public Library this month:
October 2 highlights:
- Join facilitator, Andrea Fleetwood of Life Balance Magazine for the first in a series of informative health seminars - this one called The Nutrient Deprivation: Turn off the switch and lose weight. The cost for the seminar is $15.00 per class or $36.00 for all 3 sessions.

A Bit More About Caledon Day...
Join us at Caledon Day this Saturday, October 4th. from 10-8 as we celebrate Caledon!
A few notes:
- Core Solutions (Caledon East) Fall Into Fitness 5km Fun Run and 1km Kids Run on October 4th. Warm-up is at 8:00 am, 5km starts at 8:30, 1 km starts at 9:15. Registration is through The Running Room
- We hear that the Heritage Bus Tour to Belfountain is almost sold out. If you were interested in tickets, contact Recreation and Property Services at 905-584-2272 x4235 or email. Limited spaces are available.
- Mars Canada Family Village including the following stations:
Kite Building, Birdhouse Making, Scarecrow Building, Pumpkin Carving, Face Painting and Colouring, Sensory Activities, Caledon Mountain (rock climbing), Flipside, Circus Jonathan, Madame Buskerfly, Strolling musicians, Mother's Tent.Farmers market - From 10 am-2 pm, local residents and businesses will be selling their baked goods, produce and products.
- Nortel Creative Complex
- Antique tractors, cars and motorbikes will be on display. View local car clubs showcasing their prized possessions; various makes and models will be present.Artisan vendors
- Sardo Foods Caledon Cafe - Located in the Main Village, the Caledon Café provides various types of food, hot and cold will be available for anyone looking for something to eat throughout the day, as well as washroom facilities and a rest area
- Loads of local, live music,
- And to end the night there will be a large firework display
