Some of our customers are using our bucket UNI-Trap as shown below.  They cut a Yellow Card Trap as shown here, then put it, along with some Apple Cider Vinegar, into the bucket to attract and kill Drosophila.  The UNI-Trap is available in green, yellow, and mixed colors.

TIP: Monitor for BLH with Yellow Card Traps
Yellow Card hung horizontally for BLH

Yellow Card hung vertically for BLHDeploy No-Mess Adhesive™ Yellow Card Traps very low to the ground to monitor for and follow Beet Leaf Hopper populations.  BLH vector Beet Curly Top Virus (BCTV) to various crops including potatoes.  Because BLH move about very close to the ground capture will appear mostly on the bottom half of the trap.  They occur in almost all types of habitats near potato fields.  They prefer "unirrigated low weedy vegetation composed of mustards and grasses (during early Spring) or kochia and russian thistle (during late Spring, Summer and Fall)" - Andrew Jensen, WSPC.  Place traps outside potato fields on disturbed areas where annual weeds predominate.  Avoid perennial grass and native shrub areas.  Use at least 2 traps per field.  Because BLH populations may only be in spots about the field, using more traps will increase accurate detection.

TIP: Use Back-folding Yellow Card to Protect Research Specimens

Scientists needing to capture and transport clean damage free speciments can use the Back-folding Yellow Adhesive Trap.  Is has the same No-Mess Adhesive™ and capture rates as our standard Yellow Card Trap but with only one adhesive side.  When removed from the field, this trap can be folded with the adhesive side inside and non-sticky side outside for easy handling, transport, or shipping.  With proper handling the unique design minimizes the chance that specimens may be damaged or that the two adhesive sides will stick to each other during transport and storage.

Trap may be used with or without lures.  It may be hung from a hanger or wrapped around a limb.

TIP: Use Blue/Yellow Card Trap Instead of Separate Yellow and Blue Traps in Greenhouses

Both colors are used in greenhouses to capture mites, Western Flower Thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis), and other insect pests specific to that environment.
