NEW Alpha Scents Folding Yellow Sticky Rectangle - Same High Catch Rate As Reported In ARS-USDA Tests
  Many of you asked for a folding version of our high performance yellow sticky rectangle. It is now available to meet your need for a trap that can be easily shipped with capture in tact. Plus, the same superior catch rates, as recently reported by ARS-USDA with our original yellow card, can be expected with this trap as well. As demonstrated in these studies, Alpha Scents yellow cards coated with our No-mess Sticky Card™ hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive consistently catch more fruit flies than traditional traps, as high as 1½ to 2+ times more than other brands tested.
 The trap ships flat. It is easy to handle, easy to fold and lock, and reverse folds nicely for shipping. Two hanging holes are provided for extra stability in high wind areas. It can be assemble around a tree branch or post, which gives it a bulky, 3D appearance that will increase fly captures even more.
 Tip: BEFORE removing the release paper, 1) fold trap in half in both ways (white to white and yellow to yellow sides), and 2) prepare the arrow shaped locking tabs, 3) punch out the two squares where the locking tabs will be inserted, and 4) make sure the hanger holes are clear. When hanging around a branch, use a wire hanger (comes with trap) to tie the trap on. You can also use the hanger to attach a lure as shown in the photo.

Since the release of the Alpha Scents lure for Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB, Halyomorpha halys) many customers have inquired about traps. While Alpha Scents does not sell a BMSB trap at this time development of a trap and also a killing station is ongoing. Release of product is anticipated during 2011.
In the meantime, availability of the Alpha Scents lure for BMSB provides an important component in the battle with this insect. The lure may be used to attract BMSB to your choice of trap. For instance, by deploying lures with traps around the edges of an orchard where BMSB overwinter, migration into the orchard may be reduced. The same strategy around buildings may apply. By placing a trap with lure away from a house, BMSB may be attracted away from the house, captured, and in so doing, attic invasions may be reduced. We don't yet have enough data to support that assumption, but it is certainly worth a try. Different deployment may be required for small backyard gardens. While the scientific community continues to aggressively pursue answers to these BMSB mysteries, the bug is here and the fight is on. Regardless of the strategy you decide to take, capture rates will vary based on any number of criteria still under study.
