Greetings!
Welcome to "Conservation in Your Community," our tool to keep you regularly informed of the Berks County Conservancy's conservation projects in your backyard.  We work hard every day to help keep Berks a special place to live and expect that you'll enjoy learning more about this important work through Enews.
Holiday Open House
Over 125 people walked through our doors last week to celebrate the season and enjoy holiday treats and drinks. Everyone was greeted by our volunteers, John and Dolores Renninger, and given a reusable tote bag to take home with them. Our two young volunteers, Carver and McQuillin Murphy, accommodated everyone at the coat check area.

Boscov's Catering did a wonderful job serving our guests and making sure the hors d'oeuvres were tasty and plentiful.

All of our staff at the Conservancy was around to answer any questions and share what we do here in Berks County.

Congratulations to John Unger from Clean Image Inc. who won a Berks County Conservancy fleece jacket.

Thank you to all who attended!
Where is THIS Special Place?
In each issue of our Enews, "Conservation in Your Community," we usually feature a special place in Berks.

This time, we want you to guess one of the special places in Berks County.

Tell us where this photo is taken and email it to kim.lewis@berks-conservancy.org

If you are correct and we randomly select you from our submissions, you will win an item from our Berks Conservancy store.

This is an easy one - Good Luck!
Help Save a Place for Hannah 2008 Annual Appeal
Our 2008 Year-End Gift Annual Appeal letter was sent out in November. Thank you to all who already sent in their gift. If you haven't done so yet, please consider supporting us with so that we may continue our important work throughout our local communities. Last year your support provided us with much needed year-end gifts to help advance our land protection efforts; as a result, we have been able to leverage more federal and state support to protect important areas in the Oley Hills and throughout the County.

We thank you for considering a year-end gift, and thanks for helping provide a place that has a balance of open space, recreation, urban gardens, economic growth, clean drinking water and land that is healthy, for future generations to come.
