What's Moving? News |
In this section we will share with you what is happening at Lifemoves and what our Kinesiologists are up to.
The first few months of 2009 have been very busy for us. We are looking forward to an outstanding spring and summer full of new initiatives as we reach the end of our second year.
Professional Associations
We recently joined the North Shore Chamber of Commerce and are looking forward to becoming greater participants in the North Shore community. As a result we are building a partnership with Moveo Sports and Rehabiltation Centre.
Seminars and Presentations
In February we attend the Vancouver Wellness Show for the first time. Alfred held three demonstrations to a very entusiastic crowd. We would like to thank Fitness World for sharing their booth with us.
Just last week Alfred presented at Can-Fit Pro Whilster 2009, his first workshop at big educational conference for Personal Trainers. He is looking forward to more fitness and health seminar opportunities.
Social Media - Marketing
We are working dillgently at building several social media outlets to increase our exposure and create informed, moving communities. These endeavours include our newsletter, a facebook group and a Blog; you will learn more about these as they develop.
Continuing Edcuation

Stretch Tip - 2 to 1 |
With our stretch tips we want to change the way you stretch, so you achieve lasting changes in your posture, flexibility and performance (at work or at play).
Commonly we stretch both sides of our body for the same length of time and with the same amount of attention. However, due to injuries, poor posture, repetitive movements and surgeries we end up tighter on one side.
Try stretching the "loose" side once and the "tight" side twice. For example my right leg is shorter, I injured it nearly 20 years ago and had surgery almost 30 years ago therfore I need to focus on stretching my right hip flexors and quadriceps twice. I first stretch the right, then stretch my left and finally finish with the right side.
Keep the 2 to 1 ratio in mind to achieve a more balanced body.
