| Circle of Excellence
Congratulations to those members who earned Circle of Excellence for 2011! The Awards Breakfast to honor those RealSource members who made Circle of Excellence this year will take place at Seasons, March 29, 2012. Sign in is at 8:30 and the breakfast awards begin at 9:00. The breakfast is complimentary to all Circle of Excellence and Distinguished Sales Award Honorees. The cost is $30.00 for all others who wish to attend.

| Help Stop the Rumors of a National Realty Transfer Fee
In response to numerous e-mails circulating concerning a national realty transfer fee, NJAR® is issuing a reminder that under the federal health care law enacted in 2010 or any other federal law, no national realty transfer fee (RTF) exists. Rumors continue to circulate in the form of e-mails that a national RTF was included in the health care reform law. NJAR® is seeking to dispel this myth along with NAR.
As part of the federal health care law, a 3.8% medicare tax was enacted on net investment income. However, this tax does not apply to all capital gains from a home sale. This tax only will be applied if the following two pieces of criteria are met:
1. If the gain from the homes sale is over $250,000 for individuals or $500,000 for couples.
2. If individuals earn over $200,000 per year or couples earn over $250,000 per year.
If both of these pieces are not met, the 3.8% medicare tax will not be applied. In addition, this tax has not yet taken effect. It is not scheduled to do so until January 1, 2013. For additional information on the 3.8% medicare tax, visit the NJAR® website.

Continuing Education (CE) Information
In order to qualify for license renewal July 1, 2013, 12 CE Credits must be completed by June 30, 2013.
*If you complete the requirements between May 1, 2013 and June 30, 2013 you will be required to pay an additional $200.00 processing fee, so be sure to complete your requirements by May 1, 2013 to avoid this extra fee.
Of these 12 Credits, 6 MUST be Core (2 of which must include Ethics). The remaining 6 credits may be elective.
If you do not complete your CE credits by June 30, 2013 you will not be able to renew your license and your license will therefore expire.
