Dear ,
The fall semester has brought many opportunities to stay connected with your alma mater, including faculty lectures, campus tours, and arts events throughout the community. Thanks to all of you who have been able to join us for this series of special events - it's been wonderful to see you, and we hope you enjoyed being involved.
This month, the Board of Regents of the University of Colorado requests your assistance in soliciting nominations for the 2011 University of Colorado Honorary Degrees, University Medals and Distinguished Service Awards.
An Honorary Degree (Doctor of Humane Letters or Doctor of Science) is the highest award the University of Colorado can bestow. It is the policy of the Board of Regents to award Honorary Degrees in recognition of outstanding achievement in one or more of the following areas: intellectual contributions, university service, and/or public service.
University Medals are awarded in recognition of those persons whose achievements and contributions are particularly associated with the university, while Distinguished Service Awards are awarded in recognition of achievements and contributions particularly associated with the state and/or nation.
You can learn more about how to make a nomination online.
As always, if you have suggestions regarding alumni benefits, programming or services (or ideas for special events), please let me know.
Sincerely,
Director of University Events and Alumni Relations
