Alumni Connections:
April 2010 |
Dear ,
As Commencement quickly approaches, activity on campus is picking up! Students are preparing for finals, the campus greenery is coming back to life, and graduates are getting ready to celebrate.
This is always an exciting time of year for us, and this year, it's also a great time for you to get involved. We're accepting applications for membership on the Alumni Advisory Board (read more below), and we're also building a volunteer database for a variety of opportunities on campus. Send me an email if you'd like more information.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Alumni Advancement Lecture Series a Success |
On April 3, ninety UCCS alumni gathered at the Upper Lodge for the second installment of the Alumni Advancement Lecture Series. Guests enjoyed a lovely breakfast buffet as they listened to Dr. Andrew Czaplewski discuss the importance of creating a personal, individual brand.
His presentation, Branding Your Uniqueness: Enhancing the Strength of Your Personal Brand, demonstrated the power that brand names and images have in regard to a company's or a product's public recognition and reputation. His question, "How do others see you?" is extremely important to an individual's personal and professional life. Dr. Czaplewski made a strong point that you can develop your individual brand so that colleagues and others see you as you want to be seen, or you can leave it for others to define your brand for you. Do you want to control how others see and think of you, or do you want your brand to be created by the whims of others?
After the presentation, many of the guests took the opportunity to participate in a guided tour to explore the many new buildings on campus.
