U.S. News: UCCS Sixth in the West, Engineering Lauded |

 Undergraduate engineering at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is among the best in the nation and the quality of all programs make UCCS among the best public universities in the Western United States, according to the editors of U.S. News and World Report. In the 2010 college rankings edition, "America's Best Colleges," the magazine's editors ranked the UCCS undergraduate engineering program sixth in the nation among public engineering schools offering bachelor's and master's degrees. UCCS College of Business Programs Lauded as Best in Colorado |
 Readers of the Colorado Springs Business Journal voted the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs as having the best business school in Colorado as well as the best place to earn a master's in business degree or to complete an on-line degree. In its annual listing of everything from the best local accounting firm to women business leaders - a total of 98 categories - the 2009 Colorado Springs Business Journal Best of Springs Business edition lauded innovative programs in the College of Business as well as its focus on building community support. More than 47,000 votes were cast in the annual survey. It is the fifth year that the College of Business has earned recognition. The results were announced July 22. ( More) |

New UCCS Faculty to Lead Entrepreneur Efforts |

 The former director of entrepreneurial programs at Arizona State University is the new El Pomar Chair for Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Peg Bacon, provost, and Venkat Reddy, dean, College of Business, announced the appointment of Thomas N. Duening (Den-ning), as El Pomar Chair. He previously directed the Entrepreneurial Programs Office at ASU's School of Engineering. "Dr. Duening is a leader in business and in the development of entrepreneurs," Bacon said. "We welcome him to this campus and this community as we seek to invigorate our economy with new ideas and new approaches." ( More) |
