Guide Cites Two Graduate Programs as National Leaders |

Two graduate-level programs at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs are among the nation's best, according to the editors of U.S. News and World Report. In the 2010 edition of America's Best Graduate Schools, scheduled for publication in the May 2009 issue of U.S. News and World Report, the graduate-level nursing program offered by the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences and a graduate-level public affairs program offered at the university were recognized based on the magazine's analysis of programs at colleges from across the nation. Dandapani Tapped as Engineering Dean |
 A 23-year veteran of the faculty at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is the new dean of the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science. Peg Bacon, provost, announced the selection of R. "Dan" Dandapani as dean of engineering Tuesday following a national search. His appointment is effective July 1. ( More) |

College of Business Honors Local Entrepreneur |

 An entrepreneur who studied at UCCS when the campus was located in a fraternity house on the Colorado College campus was honored on April 21 for his lifetime contributions to business in the community. Gary Loo, president and CEO, High Valley Land Company, and chairman of the High Valley Group, received the first Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award from the College of Business. Loo previously served as president of Current, Inc., a business started in his parents' home in the 1950s. ( More) |

 An opening reception is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 1 at the Gallery of Contemporary Art for 19 UCCS senior visual arts students. The student works in sculpture, drawing, painting, digital media, video and photography will be displayed through June 12. |
