Prayer for our Country - Tuesday January 20th 8:30 am
 
Join the JCU Community at 8:30 am in St. Francis Chapel on Inauguration Day, Tuesday, January 20th to pray together for our country as we inaugurate the 44th President of the United States.  There will be a selection of music, prayers and readings. 
Presentation by Dr. Sheila McGinn for Year of St. Paul
 St. Paul Save the Date -- Sunday January 25th at 7:00 pm for a presentation by Sheila McGinn, PhD., Professor, JCU Religious Studies Department, on St. Paul's letters.  The presentation will be in St. Francis Chapel immediately following the 6:00 pm Mass.  For more information on St. Paul click here. 
Liturgical Minister Training for Spring 2009
Chapel 10:00 pm Sign-ups to be trained as a new eucharistic minister or lector will be Sunday, January 11th and 18th.  Training will be Sunday, January 25th at 8:00 pm for lectors and 8:30 pm for eucharistic ministers, or as otherwise arranged.  Or, you may click on the link to contact Gail Roussey now to indicate your interest in being trained. Manresa Retreat Team Applications Now Available
Manresa 14 TeamAll former Manresa retreatants are eligible to apply to serve on the Manresa 15 Retreat Team.   Team meetings are held on Wednesday evenings from 8:30-10:00pm and the retreat will be April 15-17th.  Contact Paula Fitzgerald  for more information or click HERE to download the application form.
Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Rep at JCU Jan 27-29th
07-08 Resident MinistersTony Mazza, a representative from JVC, will be on campus January 27-29th.  He will be available in the LSC Atrium and other offices to meet with interested students and prospective applicants. More details on his visit will be available in next week's e-bulletin.  If you are considering applying to JVC this is a great opportunity to ask questions or discuss the program.
Simple Living Pilot Program
Live simply Are you interested in creating a living environment based upon the core values of a "simple living" lifestyle?    We're looking for a few more courageous individuals to be a part of this pilot program. This community will emphasize a spirituality and culture designed to be in solidarity with the poor.
 
Who is eligible?  John Carroll juniors, seniors, 5th year undergraduate students and graduate students for the 2009-10 academic year.

Where will these folks live?  This community would be housed in a John Carroll-owned house (a duplex, or multiple duplexes) and be subject to residence life rules and regulations.
