This Sunday (December 7th) at the 10 PM Mass, Fr. Niehoff and the JCU Community will gather to commission the students, faculty, staff, and administrators participating in the January Immersion Experiences. To see a listing of the January participants and group pictures, click here.
Immersion experiences challenge students to grow in fives areas: education, service, social justice, spirituality, and community.
The January groups will be traveling to Immokalee, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; Reynosa, Mexico; and Nicaragua.

| 12/8 - HOLY DAY ~ Immaculate Conception |
Monday, December 8th is a Holy Day of Obligation -- the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. At this feast the church recognizes that as the Mother of Christ, Mary was born without original sin. We will have masses on that day at 12:05 pm and 5:05 pm in St. Francis Chapel. |

An Advent penance service will begin at 5:05 pm on Wednesday, December 10th, followed by individual confession. Following your individual confession you are invited to the atrium for pizza. |
| Giving Tree DEADLINE is approaching (12/11) |
Help make the holiday season brighter for the children at the Fatima Family Center. Trees will be located in the Student Center Atrium, the Dolan Science Center Atrium, & in the Administration Building outside Einstein Brothers.
If you are interested, please select an ornament and purchase the gift noted on the back. Unwrapped gifts can be returned to St. Francis Chapel, the Campus Ministry Office, the Center for Service and Social Action, or to a Resident Minister before December 11th. Thursday, Dec 11th, from 8:30 - 11:30pm at the Brew and Bistro (formerly "Arabica" two down from Dave's Cosmic Subs)) located at the Fairmount Circle Shops, Fr. Jim Prehn, S.J., Dean of Student Development, will speak about "Making Decisions about my Life" - come and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with food and "spirits" (for those over 21) and soft drinks (for everyone else). |
| 12/13 - Christmas Carroll Eve Mass |
On Saturday, December 13th we will celebrate the traditional Christmas Carroll Eve Mass at 11:00 pm at Gesu church. Gesus is across Miramar Blvd. from Rodman Hall. Our celebrant will be Fr. Niehoff. Before mass, enjoy the musical concert in Kulas, the Christmas reading and Carrolling around the quad and the Tree Lighting outside the atrium. Following the Mass, come to Schott Dining Hall for a Midnight Feast. Gain admittance with a concert or Mass program or show your JCU ID. |

There are two opportunities available to participate in Evening Prayer. Tuesdays, at 6:30 pm, in St. Francis Chapel - the Byzantine Church is hosting Evening prayer ("Compline") in the tradition of the Eastern Rite of the Catholic Church. On Thursdays at 7:00 pm - Gesu church is offering Evening Prayer in their Marian Chapel. All are welcome. |
