Christian Life Community Leader Applications are now available online

Christian Life Communities (CLCs) are small faith communities grounded in spirituality, community, and service. Groups of 6-10 members gather weekly for prayer, reflection, and conversation as we seek to integrate our faith with the realities of everyday life.

If you would like to lead a CLC for the 2008-2009 year, please complete the application (click here for an application) and return to Carrie Pollick in Campus Ministry by Friday, April 25th, 2008. Please sign up for a ½ hour interview at this time or email your application to cpollick@jcu.edu and include your availability to interview in the email.

Did you know...

-1.2 billion billion people in our world are hungry?

-Every year 15 million children die of hunger?

-1 in 6 Ohio children is hungry or at risk of hunger?

"Trayless Tuesdays" were established in Schott Dining Hall to raise awareness about hunger in our world in preparation for "Hunger Awareness Week" (see below). At other U.S. universities food waste has been curtailed by nearly 30% through "Trayless" programs.

4/15 - Black Gold Screeninng 9:45pm - Donahue Auditorium in Dolan Sci. Ctr.

Join JUSTICE to view "Black Gold" - "As westerners revel in designer lattes and cappuccinos, impoverished Ethiopian coffee growers suffer the bitter taste of injustice. In this eye-opening expose of the multi-billion dollar industry, Black Gold traces one man's fight for a fair price."

11:30am- 2pm - Student Center Atrium

Visit the Student Center Atrium to take a "Fair Trade Coffee and Ice Cream Break." Enjoy free Fair Trade Coffee from Aramark and Ice Cream from Ben & Jerry's, purchase Equal Exchange Fair Trade products to support the Ecuador and Jamaica Immersion Experiences, and shop for gifts from Revive: Fair Trade Clothing Boutique.

St. John's Bible at John Carroll University

The Prophets edition of The Saint John's Bible is a gift to John Carroll University from Saint John's University. The Saint John's Bible is the only handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned since the advent of printed books more than 500 years ago.

Next Sunday, April 13^th, Bishop Roger Gries, auxilliary bishop of Cleveland and former abbot of the Benedictines of Cleveland will be presiding at a mass for Saint John's University, in connection with the Saint John's University Bible exhibit. 4/18 - Project Hope needs your help!

Project HOPE (Helping Others through Physical Education) is a service project done every year by the JCU community that helps those with physical and mental disabilities. Come spend a day with other JCU students and students from the Green Road Developmental School on Friday, April 18th from 11-1. There will be great games and fun, and you can help make a child's day really special. Please email Alison Cyperski at acyperski08@jcu.edu if you would like to sign up!

4/19 - Participate in Traditional Passover "Seder"

"The Cleveland Hillel Foundation will be hosting a Seder on the first night of Passover, Saturday, April 19th beginning at 8:30 PM with dinner immediately following. Save the Date - Sunday, April 20^th there will be a dinner to support vocations to the priesthood and religious life. If you want to learn how to support someone who is considering a vocation, or who is attending seminary, or if you are considering a vocation yourself, please plan on attending this dinner at 7:00 pm in the LSC Conference Room.
