PARENT'S WEEKEND MASS SCHEDULE

October is Fair Trade Month - EXCITING EVENTS!

Fair Trade is an alternate way of shopping. When you buy a Fair Trade product, it ensures that the worker who was involved with the production of that product has received fair wages and humane working conditions. There will be several special events in honor of Fair Trade Month.

October 25th - Join friends in the Atrium from 8-9:30pm. There will be free fair trade products, snacks, and great live music!

Join the "Praise and Worship Band" led by David Graves each Tuesday night at 9:00 PM in the Rodman Hall Chapel. To get to the Rodman Hall Chapel enter the main doors off the Quad in front of the labyrinth.

Bible Study

John Scarano is finally back in action! If you would like to join the Bible Study group - we're starting up again this Wednesday, October 17th. We will meet on Wednesdays from 2-3pm in the Campus Ministry Conference Room (formerly know as the President's Dining Room), and study the upcoming Sunday Readings. january 8-Day Retreat -- attend Information Session now!

IHS Do you desire a more consistent and meaningful prayer life?

Do you want to spend quality time reflecting on your life and your relationship with God?

Consider the 8-Day Silent Retreat. This retreat is based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola and is a private, individual retreat in which you meet daily with a spiritual director. The retreat will be held at Jesuit Retreat House in Parma on Sunday, January 6 - Sunday, January 13, 2008 and you must be able to attend for the entire time. In order to register and begin the preparation process you MUST attend one of Information Sessions (see schedule below). Sessions last approximately 45 minutes and will be held in the Campus Ministry Conference Room, up the ramp from the bookstore.

FESTIVAL OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING

An evening of Celebration, Reflection and Fun with the JCU Praise and Worship Band, led by David Graves, and the JCU Men's A Capella group, RHAPSODY BLUE. Come and sing along or just listen! There will be a reflection by Dr. Edward Peck (Associate Dean of the Graduate School). This event sponsors the LABRE PROJECT, so please bring blankets, clothes, socks, jackets, warm hats, gloves and shoes to donate to the homeless of Cleveland. Help the Fatima Family Center - Volunteer for Make a Difference Day!

This year John Carroll will join thousands of people across the country by serving our community on "Make a Difference Day". The JCU project will be a neigborhood collection of donated food for the Fatima Food Drive. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, October 27th from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Sign-ups will be in the atrium this coming week from 11 AM - 2 PM or online at the Center for Service and Social Action's website - click here! Retreat on the Gospel of Nonviolence

Practice Nonviolence A retreat entitled Gospel Nonviolence: Our Greatest Hope will be on Saturday November 10, St. Peter's/Cosgrove Center (downtown Cleveland) from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The retreat will be facilitated by Rev. Emmanuel Charles McCarthy, a priest of the Eastern Rite (Byzantine) of the Catholic Church, who for over 40 years has directed educational programs and conducted spiritual retreats throughout the world on the issue of relationship of faith and violence and the teachings of Christ on the unconditional love of friends and enemies. Formerly a lawyer and university educator, he was the original director of the Program for the Study and Practice of Nonviolent Conflict Resolution at the University of Notre Dame. To visit Fr.
