Christian Life Community Sign-Ups begin on Sunday, September 9th

The CLC Leaders invite you to share and explore your spirituality by creating an intentional family here at John Carroll.

Christian Life Communities meet once a week as small communities of 6-10 students to reflect, pray and share experiences of God's presence.

The CLC leaders Kickoff of the year with Sign-ups and a reception following the 6pm & 10pm masses on Sunday, Sept. 9th. Leaders will also have applications available in the atrium from 11am-1pm during the week of Sept. 10th -14th. Be sure to SIGN UP!

MASS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Celebrate the Spirit Logo

On Thursday, September 6th, our community "Celebrated the Spirit" with Mass and a luncheon (served in Schott Dining Hall). This is a tradition to ask for God's Spirit at the beginning of the school year, and is celebrated by Jesuit institutions around the world.

The Committee for "Celebrate the Spirit" would like to thank everyone who assisted in the preparation for this day. We would also like to thank all of you who participated and attended the mass and/or luncheon. We would like your feedback regarding the event, which will aid us in our planning for future events.

First Year Retreat

Open to all first-year students - a great chance to meet new people and also share and learn more about how to live your faith as a JCU student. Led by a group of sophomore students, this overnight retreat will be held Friday, Oct 5 - Saturday, Oct 6 at beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Sign up NOW in Campus Ministry, space is limited. On August 23rd (Move-in Day) approximately 140 first year students - joined by current students and FSA's - volunteered to help give the Thea Bowman Center a makeover. The group painted, cleaned, and landscaped for the entire day at the social service center that provides services and assistance to hundreds of people - young and old - in the Cleveland's Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. Click here to see some pictures from the day.

The Catholic Church has established a process, known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), for all those wishing to explore whether they are called to receive the sacraments in the Roman Catholic faith tradition. If you would like to know more about the Catholic faith, or if you are wondering about whether you would like to receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation or First Eucharist, then RCIA is for you!
