Blane's Block Area Tips & Tricks from a 20-Year Local
Mt. Rose Hit the Slide side (east side) early and by 10:00 start thinking about making your
way back to the Rose side where the snow will remain great until just after
noon.
Diamond Peak Get in some early
morning cruisers down Crystal Ridge as it starts to soften drop down
Thunder and Lightening.
North Star Get an early start here.
The front will soften fairly early but the runs down the back side can stay good
until mid-day. If you are a beginner or low intermediate you will want to be on
the front and as I said it can get pretty soft early in the
morning.
Alpine Meadows Get up on top and
hit the sun bowl first thing, It will close early and may not even open if the
temps don't set it up overnight. This can be some of the best spring skiing in
the area if the conditions allow. You can then head over to Alpine bowl until it
get rotten, but by then the deck and your favorite beverage may be calling your
name.
