Reservations for our 15th Anniversary Anchor Ball are still being accepted.  Please send in your reservation card this week or make your reservation online CLICK HERE. If you don't have a pre-determined group to sit with, we will make every attempt to seat you with parents of children in the same grades as yours.  This is a night you won't want to miss.  Take a look at some of our exciting auction items below.  See you there!

Service Hour Opportunities
We are in need of volunteers for the day and evening of the event, Saturday, May 15th.
· DOUBLE SERVICE HOURS for any time worked on Saturday, May 15th - either setting up or working that evening.
· TRIPLE SERVICE HOURS for any time worked after 10:00 p.m. on May 15th.

Jog-a-thon is TOMORROW!
"Jog/Walk for Health and Fitness"
 
Our Jogathon will be full of fun, music and school spirit! This year, we will walk/run to benefit 
·  25% to a Medical Charity to help bring Health back to Haiti
·  25% for Health and Fitness Books for our Serra Library
·  25% for Serra Student Recess Equipment for Healthy Play
·  25% for Serra Physical Education Classes and our Athletic Program
to support Health Education
 
Students will wear athletic shoes, PE bottoms and a colored t-shirt to correspond to their class. CLICK HERE for more information about our day and your class t-shirt color. Remember this is a minimum day dismissal.

Scrip Update
2009-2010 Financial Participation Fee Invoices and
Notification of Rebate Credit:
The '09-'10 scrip year ended April 30th. Any family who has not fulfilled their Financial Participation Fee as of April 30th will receive an invoice by the end of May 2010.  Families who have earned rebates in excess of $200 will receive notification of rebate credit by the end of May 2010.
 
Changes to Daily and Weekly Order Forms
Visa Gift Card Users - Effective Immediately
Due to the new federal credit card legislation, Visa gift cards will no longer be available for purchase.
     As an alternate, we will continue offering American Express gift cards at 1.25% rebate in increments of $25, $100 and $200.  American Express gift cards are accepted at all locations where American Express Credit cards are accepted.
 
American Express Gift Card Users
Now available in the Daily Box in $25 and $100 increments.  Consider the American Express gift cards when making purchases at Costco and Trader Joe's.
 
Get a jump start on scrip rebates for 2010-2011.
All purchases beginning Monday, May 3rd will be applied toward your 2010 -2011 rebate.
 
Examples of how you can increase your 2010-2011 Scrip Rebates
Did you know?
If you purchase an Albertsons or Stater Brother's gift card for $100(5%) and an Arco or Chevron card for $50(2%) every week we are in school beginning May 3rd, you will generate $228 of scrip rebates for your family for the 2010-2011 school year.
     If you purchase a Von's/Pavilion's gift card for $100(4%)and a Arco or Chevron card for $50(2%) every week we are in school beginning May 3rd, you will generate  $190 of scrip rebates for your family for the 2010-2011 school year.

Did you know?
You can use Kohl's scrip to pay your Kohl's charge card bill. Payment must be made in person.

Did you know?
You can use Albertson's or Vons/Pavilions scrip to purchase gift cards at the store.  For example, if you need a Starbuck's gift card and you forgot to purchase it through Serra, you may use your Albertson's or Vons/Pavilions scrip to make your gift card purchase at the store.

S.C.M.C. Presents Parenting Seminar!
Interested in expert guidance to solve everyday parenting problems such as homework, arguing and making choices?  S.C.M.C. invites ALL PARENTS to a parenting seminar on Wednesday, May 19th in the Serra Catholic Extended Care Room.  CLICK HERE for more information on this exciting seminar for parents of tots through teens.
 
Calling all Buddy Families!
A warm and welcoming face can mean so much to a new family at Serra.   Our Buddy Family program pairs current Serra families with new incoming families to share their experience and knowledge.  Contact Melissa Fosdick at 459-1505 or by email to fosdickmelissa@yahoo.com to get a head start on next year's hours while helping with this important program.
