Students Recognized by Rancho Santa Margarita City Council
The City of Rancho Santa Margarita City Council continues to work with local schools in the area to recognize and honor students with their Student Recognition Program. Since 2006, Serra Catholic is proud to be one of the schools participating in this program. Recognition criteria is determined by the individual schools and Serra has chosen to honor students for various accomplishments including but not limited to, Christian Service, improvement in academic achievement, showing a positive attitude, modeling Catholic values and other qualities related to our SLEs. We are very proud to announce that this year's recipients are Seventh Grade students, Marissa Reynolds and Samantha Slavin. Both girls have earned school recognition for their efforts in the areas of citizenship, service and academic excellence. Samantha and Marissa have given unselfishly of themselves to help others. Marissa has dedicated her own time and ideas to coordinate fundraising efforts to help outreach programs such as South County Outreach and Boys Town USA . Samantha organized a group of peers during the Christmas season and together they spent several hours creating beautiful note cards and gift tags which were then sold with 100% of the proceeds going to Toby's House.
Marissa and Samantha join past recipients Jeanette Delgadillo, Maggie Gunawan, Shelby Hawks, Jason Olson, Anthony Paliobagis, Nicholas Prukop, Amanda Sciulla and Zachary Waken. Congratulations girls! CLICK HERE to view Orange County Register article. |

Operation Rice Bowl Continues at Serra
Serra students are being encouraged to fill their cardboard rice bowls, a concrete symbol of hunger, as part of their Lenten sacrificial contribution to those in need. With contributions made through Operation Rice Bowl, Catholic Relief Services works to alleviate human suffering and foster charity and justice in countries around the world. A little bit of change can go a long way, especially when a lot of people are collecting it. Please support and join our Serra students in this Lenten project. Final collection will take place March 19th. |
Reporting Student Service Hours to go Green! Beginning in the third trimester this year, we will no longer accept student service hours on the printed NCR forms. All reporting will be required to be submitted online.
If you have any student service hours which have been verified on the current form, please submit them to the School Office by March 12th. After March 12th, the paper forms will no longer be accepted. |
