Supporting Haiti
As we continue to monitor the relief efforts, it is apparent that the greatest need at this time is for monetary contributions. To support the relief efforts, we will hold two Non-Uniform Dress Fundraiser Days next week on Tuesday, January 26th and Thursday, January 28th with a minimum $1 donation for each day. Students who wish to participate in the non-uniform dress day are to turn in their donation to their teacher on Tuesday and Thursday. (Please refer to the Parent Handbook for non-uniform dress guidelines)
Fifty percent of all funds raised will be donated to Catholic Relief Services and the remaining 50% of the funds will go to Fr. Marc's Orphanage.
Our goal for the non-uniform dress days is to raise $1,500 to $2,000.

Heifer Project 2010 is Here!
Beginning January 25th and running through February 19th, our Serra Trinity Team welcomes each student to take the opportunity to live our SLE, "A Catholic Faith-Filled Life and Missionary Spirit," and share their blessings with others by donating to the Heifer Project. Heifer International is working with communities in the United States and all around the globe to end hunger and poverty while caring for the earth.  Can we collect enough to buy honeybees, llamas, a flock of chickens, rabbits, pigs, sheep, goats, a heifer, a water buffalo . . . or the Entire Ark? In your Weekly Envelope today, you will receive a Heifer project packet with an attached envelope.
Using this envelope, each student can enclose coin or cash.
Please make sure to SEAL the envelope.
If parents choose to send a check, please make the check payable to Serra Catholic School.  Please note that Heifer International and Serra Catholic School will NOT issue an individual tax acknowledgement.
All monies collected will be donated directly to Heifer International. As with all Serra outreach projects, your participation is entirely voluntary but greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your Support!
Thank you to our parents for their support of staff during this week's rain storms. As Californians, we are not accustomed to the severity of the storms we experienced this week. Thank you for entrusting us with your children; please know that they are safe with us while they are at school - their safety comes before all else.
With the weather predictions returning to milder storms next week, we will be returning to our regular uniform schedules; students may only wear their Serra sweats on PE days and may no longer wear rain boots to school.
