Wednesday's Living Room:
(Re)Discovering the Treasures of Islam in America

 September 12, 2011

Greetings!

Tomorrow, we welcome Debbie Almontaser as guest host in our first fall Living Room, which will include her reflections on what Muslim Americans have (re)discovered about Islam over the last decade, readings, prayers, your stories, real "treasures" for you to discover, and a cake to celebrate Jacob's 1st birthday.

There is no being of any kind whose inexhaustible secret treasures are not hidden within Us. But We divinely manifest these treasures by finite degrees. - Holy Qur'an 15:21, Al-Hijr

This past week, Faith House, Samir, and Bowie have shown up at Harvard, on the Radio, and curating an online art exhibit.  Links below!

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

 Celebrate Jacob's 1st Birthday!

For the first Living Room of Faith House's fourth year, come hear Debbie Almontaser's reflections on how Muslim Americans have (re)discovered beauty, truth and treasures in Islam through (re)exploring their sacred texts, rich diversity, and civic participation.  The evening will include readings from the Koran, prayers, time to share stories about what you have (re)discovered about Islam in the last decade that has inspired your faith journey... and a small mountain of boxes filled with treasures for you to unpack and take home!  We'll end with a cake to celebrate the 1st birthday of Akbar Jacob Mathew, Bowie's son, born on 9/11/10. We look forward to seeing you there!
