Fall Events Begin 9/14!
Debbie Almontaster, Frank Schaeffer, a Tour Bus & More

September 7, 2011
Greetings!

This Sunday is the tenth anniversary of 9/11.  Samir has been invited

to give the Keynote Address at Harvard University and Bowie will Jacob 1 Yearcelebrate the first birthday of her son, Akbar Jacob Mathew, born on 9/11/2010 (which was his due date, Rosh Hashanah, Eid al-Fitr and Ganesh Chaturthi). We have included links below to interfaith initiatives happening all over the world, including many in Manhattan organized through Prepare New York.

Once this weekend is over, we invite you to make "experiencing your neighbor's faith" part of your regular spiritual practice throughout the fall and year ahead.

Next Wednesday, we will welcome Debbi Almontaser as our guest host in a Living Room, which will include her reflections on what Muslim Americans have (re)discovered about Islam in the last decade, readings from the Koran, prayers, your stories, real "treasures" for you to discover, and a cake to celebrate Jacob's 1st birthday.

Our Living Room gatherings continue on the 2nd Wednesday of each month this autumn, with guest hosts Frank Schaeffer and Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb. In late October, we'll begin a seven-week "Tour Bus" that will include worship at a Hindu temple, a Jewish Shabbat service, Sufi Dhikr, and "Space for Grace" at Riverside Church

Whether you're looking for "Interfaith 101" or have a long multifaith history, come deepen your own faith and (re)discover the breadth and varieties of religious experience with Faith House this year!

Please take a few minutes to answer these 9 questions and help us find out.
