LIVING ROOM LAST WEEK (Nov 15)  Spirit and the Creative Imagination
Report by Bowie Snodgrass: It was wonderful!  We had about 45 people and started with centering meditation on "intention" in creativity guided by Jill and based on Shema (a word from Hebrew Bible). Afterward, three groups produced tremendous poems, art pieces and a song about angels and spirit guides ... in 45 minutes! When we came back together at the end, we were able to see and hear what had been produced in the three groups and reflect on the meaning and process behind it. Some of the written pieces will be published on our website. The visual art pieces and photos of our gathering are posted on our Flickr Group Page (sorry that some of the colors aren't quite true). The song that Vince, Kyle, Kyuho, and the music group wrote will make a return appearance at a December Living Room!

St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Manhattanville
521 West 126th Street

Dr. Lucinda Mosher will speak on Mary the Mother of Jesus as Muslims understand her: What does the Qur'an have to say about Mary and her son Jesus? What have Muslims taught about her over the centuries? What role does she play in Muslim piety? All are welcome. Dr. Mosher is a consultant, educator and author who specializes in inter-religious relations. She is the author of the response of The Episcopal Church to A Common Word (a major Muslim call for dialogue), studies of the Turkish Muslim mystic Bediuzzaman Said Nurse, and author of many articles on Christian-Muslim understanding. She is also the author of Faith in the Neighborhood book series, which addresses America's religious diversity.
