Fresh Cut and U-Cut Trees on Bainbridge Island

Bainbridge Island Farms
Several local farmers are offering Christmas Trees this year, including Karen Selvar of Bainbridge Island Farms. Selvar also offers wreaths, garland, hand-made gifts, hot cocoa and cider, and horse and carriage rides on the weekends in December, weather permitting.

Bainbridge Island Farms on Manzanita Road offers U-Cut Christmas Trees, as well as premium fresh cut Noble Firs, wreaths, swags, jams, jellies...and more.  Bainbridge Island native, Karen Selvar, apprenticed with Akio Suyematsu since 1978 and in 1991 she became the sole strawberry grower on historic Island berry farm land.  While expanding Bainbridge Island Farms offerings to asparagus, rhubarb, sweet corn, ornamental corn, squash and gourds, Karen continues to manage Suyematsu's farm operation at Day Road including his raspberry and pumpkin fields.

Selvar and crew are ramping up for the holidays, preparing the farm to open daily from November 28 thru December 23rd.  Karen also provides wreaths to Kiwanis, so if you support Kiwanis, you are also supporting local farming.  On weekends during the holidays, the Farm will offer Horse and Carriage rides on the weekends (weather permitting), fresh baked goods, hand-made gift items by local artists and hot cocoa and cider.  Karen knows that cutting your own Island grown Christmas tree is a family event to be cherished, but for those who need that very special Noble Fir we'll have it fresh cut for you at the Farm.
