9 Year Anniversary
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks to you, out most valuable asset, we had another wonderful year at The Wine Maker's Toy Store and Dallas Home Brew.
Over the last nine years, my philosophy has not changed and will not change. My philosophy is quite simple. I want to prove that you can give excellent customer service, take excellent care of our employees and still make money. It seems that so many companies these days don't care about their customers or their employees. All they care about is making as much money as fast as they can. I want to disprove their philosophy. In that end, I am not trying to be another Neiman-Marcus, but I definitely do not want to be the Wal-Mart of the home wine making stores. My objective is to be the store that you can count on to give you a competitive price with unsurpassed customer service. So far, this philosophy has worked very well for us.
This next year will hold more changes as we continue to expand our products and make it easier to find products and information on our web site. We are moving into the commercial winery and brewing equipment and we will be moving to a larger space. We will continue to add more home brew supplies and equipment.
Again, my heartfelt thanks for your continued support of my dream. We are here to help you make the best wine and beers, so if you ever have any questions, please give us a call or send us an email. |
We Are Moving!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have finally signed a new lease. Although it is not as much space as I had wanted, it will almost double our space to 7,000 square feet and it is only 2 buildings down from our current space. This will give us the abiltiy to show off more of our hobby items as well as our new commercial winery equipment. We will also be increasing the size of the grain room by almost 300% and will be adding a second mill. We will also be adding another refrigerator for our expanding selection of hops and liquid yeast.
The move is scheduled for the weekend of June 23rd. We will start the move on Friday afternoon and hope to be up and running by the following Monday. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
For those of you that would like to help with the move, please let me know. As we did in our last move, anyone that helps will get store credit. The new address will be 1500 I35E, Suite 116. It is at the corner of I35 and Northside drive. |
Large Equipment
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As most of you now know, we are expanding into commercial winery equipment. My recent trip to Italy went extremely well and we now have several more containers in route. We expect them to arrive late June or early July. These containers will include stainless steel tanks, presses, crusher/de-stemmers, bottlers, etc. that are perfect for the home wine maker wanting to make larger batches and/or working with fresh fruit.
I am working on getting the products and prices loaded on the web site and I think you will find our prices the best to be found. With these prices, I am not sure how long the products will be available. My suggestion is to place your order now. We will put in on back order and ship it as soon as the containers arrive. Please note that quite a number the larger items do have to be freighted. If this is the case with your order, we will obtain a shipping quote and forward to you for approval before shipping your order.
I will be loading pictures of my trip to our Facebook account as I have time. |
Bottling Party
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So we don't have to move our carboys full of wine, we will be having a bottling party prior to the move. The date will be June 9 and we will start at 5:30 pm.
For those of you that have never attended one of our bottling parties, we set up an assembly line to bottle the wine. People can use the bottler for a while then switch to a corker. If you want you can also put labels on the bottles.
When we are finished (usually 2-3 hours), we set out food and bottles of wine from the batches bottled. This gives you the opportunity to sample our wines. In exchange for your help, you get to take home 3 bottles of wine!
As a side note, customers have so much fun at these events that we are always asked, "When is the next one?" This is also an excellent opportunity to spend an evening talking with other home wine makers.
Due to space considerations, we are limiting the attendance to 40 guests. If you would like to attend, please email me and I will add you to the list. I would also like to limit the guests to current wine makers and wine maker wannabees! |
Rojo Intenso
I made a mistake and inadvertantly overordered the Rojo Intenso Meglioli wine kit. This is an outstanding blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. As such, it has a nice spicy, black currant taste and customers that have made it, claim it is one of the best wine kits they have made.
I want to reduce my inventory before I move, so I am offering a very special price on this wine kit. It normally lists for $224.99, but I have put it on sale for $154.99, $70.00 off! If you want it with the grape pack, the price is $169.99. If you have ever considered making a Meglioli wine kit, but the price was too steep, now is the time to find out how good these kits really are.
