~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New Web Site, October 8th
We are planning on launching the new web site on October 8, 2010. We have tried to maintain much of the customization from the old site, but there will be significant changes to go with the enhancements. Initially, we will be missing some of the content from the old site, but over the next several months, I will be reloading the missing content and adding more.
The new site will have an up-to-date ordering system that will be fully integrated with my credit card processor, PayPal and Google Checkout. This should make ordering easier and eliminate the problem with mis-typed credit cards. All credit card processing will be handled by a third party, so I will not have access to your credit card information unless you call us and request us to keep it on file. This step is being made to increase your security.
Although we have tried to test every aspect of the system, I will be greatly surprised if everything works 100% correctly on day one. For that reason, we will be providing an email address to our web developers so that you can advise them of any problems you encounter.
We have created a special web page to highlight the changes from the old site to the new. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read about the changes. Click on the following to learn more about the new web site.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Price Increases
Even with the recession, we are starting to see price increases by our distributors and manufacturers. Most of the wine kit manufacturers took increases earlier in the year, so now Mosti Mondiale and RJ Spagnols are following suit. We are also seeing increases in a lot of the incredients, including grains. With the drought in Russia, we expect grain prices to continue to increase into 2011.
We will try to absorb as much of the increases as possible, but we will have to pass on some of them. Please note that we will not change the prices until we launch the new web site. |

2011 Limited Availability Wine Kits
Although we have not heard anything regarding which wine kits will be offered this year by Mosti Mondiale, Cellar Craft or RJ Spagnols, be assured we will be offering them for pre-order starting in October. We will not be posting them on the old site as I don't want to take orders for them in both systems, but they will be posted on the new site as soon as it is up and we have the information from the manufacturers.
We always have a special for these kits and this year is no exception. With the new web site, I am limited on what I can do, so we are going to give you $10.00 off each limited wine kit if you order 5 or more of these kits. The new web site is supposed to give you this discount automatically and we have verified that it is working, but if it is not reflected in your shopping cart, please contact us.
Please note the $10.00 off is in addition to your normal 10% off for being in the FVW Grower's Club. Remember, as with all limited wine kits, you will not be charged for them until they ship or you pick them up. |

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ malteurop us domestic 2-row pale malt now available
The Wine Makers Toy Store/Dallas Homebrew is now selling a new US domestic 2-row Pale Ale malt. It's from the newest and arguably finest, malting company in the United States. MALTEUROP is producing superb American malts from locally grown barley in Montana. In fact, since most domestic maltsters use both Canadian and US barleys, this is arguably the only absolutely US malt available! Before now, this malt was being sold only in bulk to better breweries across the country.
If you have not used this grain, we encourage you to try it. Since this a new product, we have a great introductory price of $.74 per pound (after the 10% discount). We are confident you will love this product.
