Mo and Scottie's Reality DVDs...I was nearly in tears.
A couple of weeks ago, I was watching my father's life slip away - breath by
breath.
At 9:15pm on July 14th 2007, he passed away here in Austin, Texas. He was 83 years old. He was my best friend.
I spiraled down and out for several days, falling behind on work.
Normally, I try to have FitnessandFigureReality.com episodes completed and
shipped by the middle of each month. But it was not going to happen this month.
Even though I love my work in the fitness arena, I just couldn't get things
together. Then early last week, I was ready. My spirit had been lifted by friends and family from afar. They offered support and encouragement and made me feel better. So I got started with the editing of FitnessandFigureReality.com Episode #5
(July 2007) with a heavy heart.
As I watched the footage that Monica and Scott had gathered, I started to
grin.
Then I chuckled.
Then I belly laughed like my 2 year old watching his favorite TV show, "Wow
Wow Wubbzy"
In one scene I hear Scott Peckham say, "No, this is not an episode of
Jackass!" as he starts towards a large dead tree in his yard with a
chainsaw.
What happens next makes me think that, yes, this is an episode of "Jackass" -
an American TV show of... well, jackasses!
Then I see Scott break his sprinkler system with a shovel as he's doing some
"landscaping" and his reaction to the disaster.
And why is he sawing a hole in the side of his house?
Then I hear Mo and Scott talking, on the way to IHOP for breakfast, about the
other one being a "jailbird"!
What?
Monica and Scott in jail?
Come on.
That's enough to get anyone's attention!
But one of the two did do "some time"!
And then there's the weenie dog contest in Elgin, Texas and the trip to the
baseball game at famous Fenway Park In Boston, Massachusetts.
Plus much more.
Episode 5 (July 2007) made me laugh out loud for the first time since my
Dad's death.
Thank you, Monica and Scott. I needed to laugh.
And maybe those of you reading this need a laugh too.
