A New Documentary to be Screened at Nityananda Institute
A new documentary, "The Spiritual
Revolution," directed by Alan Swyer, will be
screened at Nityananda Institute in Portland on
Wednesday, December 12 at 7:00 pm.
"The Spiritual Revolution" is a look at
eastern spirituality in the western world:
its origins, how it evolved, and its impact
on the world in which we live. It includes
interviews with scores of swamis, lamas,
gurus, zen masters and other teachers, as
well as physicians, psychotherapists,
scientists and scholars. The film includes an
interview with the spiritual director of the
Institute, Swami Chetanananda.
Director Alan Swyer will be here for the
screening and to answer questions afterward.
Alan Swyer's other film projects include two
documentaries: "Beisbol," which is the
definitive look at Latin American baseball;
and "Leimert Park." Other recent work
includes "Time of Fear," which he directed
and co-wrote. Mr. Swyer has also served as
writer and/or producer on projects as
disparate as HBO's "Rebound," "The Buddy
Holly Story," "Critical Condition," "Alfred
Hitchcock Presents," and "Baywatch."
There is no charge for this event, and
