Lama Karma Teaching on Green Tara
Lama Karma Namgyel will give a teaching on Green Tara on Friday, September 21 at 7:00 pm. He will discuss the qualities and significance of Green Tara, who is considered to be the mother of universal compassion, describe her visualization and manifestation as the 21 Taras, and lead a brief practice and meditation. Suggested donation is $20.
Lama Karma was born in Bhutan of a
Nyingma/Drukpa Kagyu family. He joined a Drukpa
Kagyu monastery in Bhutan at age 7 and stayed until
he was 21. In 1987, he
went to Nepal to study Dzogchen teachings with
Khenpo Rigdzin Dorje. He came to the United States
in 1996 and now lives in Boulder, Colorado, where he
established the Drukpa Mila Center, a center for
teaching in the Drukpa/Kagyu lineage.

Gaurav Mazumdar in Concert
Indian sitar master Gaurav Mazumdar will give an afternoon concert on Sunday, September 23 at 4:00 pm in the meditation hall. He will be accompanied by Kuntal Roy on tabla and Rose Okada on tambura. Suggested donation is $20.
Gaurav Mazumdar is a composer and teacher as well as an extremely gifted performer and is one of the most sought-after musicians of this generation. He comes from a family of well-known musicians from Allahabad and studied sitar under Pandit Ravi Shankar.
