  • Grazie to Dave Frick on producing a fun photo presentation shown at our last meeting for all to enjoy.
  • Join us for a creative designing evening of "Cupcake Wars Peace". Cupcakes and toppings are provided, feel free to bring own topping and make an international design. Most creative gets a special prize. Information on upcoming events will be shared with groups.
  • Culinary School from Reggio is coming in 2012. Get details at our meeting.

   

  • Thank you to Trier group for their support of Martin Bambauer German organist. No meeting this month but join the "Cupcake Wars Peace" program.

  • The Nagaoka group will have their last meeting of the year this month by enjoying dinner at the Japanese Palace. See the calendar for details.
  • Plans are already being made for our New Year's Oshogatsu party. If you want to assist with the planning, please join us.

 

  • The Bandung group is excited about hosting five firefighters coming to Fort Worth this month. The group will welcome them with a dinner and you are welcome to attend. See calendar for details.
  •  

    • Congratulations to youth chair Andrea McCormick. She is leading a youth exchange to Budapest on March 10th. No meeting this month but join us at the "Cupcake Wars Peace" meeting.

     

    • A business mission arranged by the Toluca Chamber of Commerce will take place December 1-3. Stay tuned for details.
    • Twenty university engineering students from Tech de Monterrey Campus Toluca are coming March 31 - April 6. Home host families and day hosts are needed. Contact Beth for hosting information.
    • Join us for our next joint meeting with Reggio and Mbabane as we enjoy an "International Cupcake" topping design contest. We provide all the goods. You bring your creativity and extra toppings. Maybe you'll win a prize.

     

    • The group will join Toluca & Reggio groups this month. Bring a friend and learn about upcoming local programs.
    • Sign up for the 2012 Mbabane Service Adventure that includes a mural, working with child care point centers and tours and safari. Program includes 2 days in Johannesburg, South Africa. Exchange is open to adults who will join our youth and is limited to 20. Applications are available on the website, with deposits due Dec.1st. Contact Beth for details.

    Fort Worth Youth International

    • The FYI Board has set up a partnership with Potbelly's on University to donate 25% of ALL dine-in sales from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15th. Bring your friends and join us for dinner and help raise scholarships for our students.
    • Board has set a goal to raise more scholarships this year and will kick off the Sundance Santa program after the tree-lighting Nov.25th. High school volunteers are needed and you can count as service hours, please contact Beth to sign up.
    • Congrats to Keome Rowe our Emerging Leader Network scholar.

    Emerging Leader Network (The Net)

    • Our NET group will be busy this month interviewing for a Yamagata Emerging Leader scholarship candidate. A few members from the committee will make up the panel and will interview high school students on Sunday, November 13th.
    • Members of the NET group are pre selling raffle tickets for the Mayor's International Dinner. A little healthy competition is great - as the top seller will win 2 American Airlines tickets to anywhere in the Continential U.S., Canada, or Mexico. Tickets must be turned in by November 7th.
