It was a new beginning for Bright Angel Church of Christ when they received verbal confirmation that the loan for their new facility in Las Vegas was in order. Construction began, and Elder Robert Jones set off for a mission trip to China, confident that the church construction would continue as planned. That is, until Mr. Jones received an unexpected phone call. "While in China, I was notified that the bank had decided to deny our application for a loan," explained Mr. Jones. "Assuming that it would be no problem to find another loan source, we proceeded with construction using our own building funds. We soon learned that no bank would talk to us once construction was started. Our backs were against the wall, and it looked like the only funds available were at loan-shark rates. "Our funds were depleted in early November and construction halted," he said. Fortunately, Bright Angel Church of Christ had selected SR Construction, a member of the National Association of Church Design Builders (NACDB). Holding our meeting just prior to the Church Solutions Conference lets attendees save on the additional travel expense. The annual NACDB meeting invites members to review the past year, look forward to the next year and network with fellow members.
