Lego League Robotics Program at Al-Amal
| | Al-Amal School will be fielding two teams this year at the First Lego League (FLL) competitions. Division 1 team is coached by Br. Firasat Khan. Division 2 team is coached by Br. Kemal Balioglu, assisted by Br. Ali Uluyol. Faizan Malik (10th grade) and Zakria Ghani (9th grade) are assistant coaches.
The benefits of these kinds of activities are numerous. Students learn problem solving skills, creative thinking, teamwork, and sportsmanship all the while working with state-of-the-art technology. Facing a very challenging task and seeing it through to completion help students build self-esteem. |
What are Al-Amal Students Involved in?

Here is a sampling of the enrichment activities that the Al-Amal students are involved in outside of their regular studies:
1. Several Al-Amal high school students are registered to take part in this conference. For details click here.

4. Al-Shifa Clinic Social Media: Al-Amal 10th grader, Sarah Siddiqui is social media volunteer at ICM Al-Shifa Clinic to help expand its outreach through social media.
5. MN History Center (MHS) - Teen Advisory Council:
Al-Amal 9th grader, Zakria Ghani, is an intern at the Minnesota History Center Teen Advisory Council (TAC).
Ten students meet weekly on Tuesdays from 03:30-05:30PM to learn about the MHS's mission, structure and goals for serving the public. Students have the opportunity to work with the public, make occasional blog updates, complete volunteer assignments, staff exhibit openings and public events.
The primary goal of TAC is to introduce teens to the museum world and provide opportunities to engage with staff and each other while completing authentic, professional museum projects.
