  Dan Risgaard

Dan Risgaard is enjoying his first year of retirement after 41 dedicated years of being a choral director. After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree at the UW, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to get his masters from Georgia State University. But he could not stay away from Wisconsin for long and came back to teach music at La Crosse Longfellow Middle School and La Crosse Logan High School.

Greetings!

The Singers are catching a tan on their annual spring break trip, but they will be performing back in Wisconsin in no time. Make sure to check out the April schedule, it is filled with numerous performances.

Also, we want to send our condolences to Singers' alumnus John Jacobson. John  is a famous choreographer in the  show choir world, and he recently lost his house in a fire. We were reminded that the same thing happened to Scott and Kitt Foss over a year ago.

Keep them in your thoughts.

Jenna Severson, Engagement Coordinator.

Two Singers are Honored for Saving a Life

Gino And Max

Every Singer remembers the hard work that goes into production camp, but junior Gino Ricchio and sophomore Max Morkri will remember camp for a different reason this year. On March 26th Gino and Max received the Chief's Award from Madison Police Chief Susan Riseling for saving the life of an individual they found in the men's restroom in the Humanities building.

Check out the news story!

Meet Jeffery Carter

Ryan and Jeffery

The Wisconsin Singers try to perform at as many high schools as possible, but one high school that will always have a special spot in the Singers hearts is Waterloo. The Singers met fifteen-year-old Jeffery Carter through a music clinic. They taught Jeffery the choreography to one of their songs, and according to his mother, Jackie, Jeffery has been practicing his new moves ever since.

The

The Backbone of a Strong Non-Profit

 production camp
The Wisconsin Singers shine on the stage year after year, but next season marks the 19th anniversary of another group of hardworking individuals that help to keep this great program on the road - the Wisconsin Singers Executive Board.
The Board was formed in 1994 when the Friends of Wisconsin Singers was established as an independent non-profit to deal with the loss of funding from the UW. Their role is to not only ensure the long-term sustainability of the program, but also to enhance the student experience, and reconnect Singers alumni from the last 44 years.
