Trez started out her musical career as a very talented pianist, but wanted to add singing and dancing to her résumé. She hoped trying out for her high school choir would prepare her for the Wisconsin Singers.  

 

"I really wanted to be a Wisconsin Singer... so my senior year in high school, I auditioned and made it as a singer/dancer in the Tremper Choraliers and someone else played the piano. I knew I was going to have to prove myself if I was ever going to make it as a Wisconsin Singer," Trez said.

Steph Burg Doubles her Support

 

Steph Burg became a member of the Wisconsin Singers troupe her sophomore year in college, and she thanks the Singers for helping her become the person she is today. Now it is time for us to say thank you to her for choosing to give back.

 

"The Wisconsin Singers probably single-handedly had the most influence on the person I am today. Singers gave me confidence and a lot of self-awareness. I can't stand being late to meetings, thanks to Lombardi time, and I can make really efficient use of my time as well. Singers also gave me many friends for life. I want to give back as much as I can and one way I can is through donating money," Steph said.

Another year has sped by! It is time to make those New Year's resolutions that everyone loves. Some of my resolutions are to get more involved with charity work and dedicate a lot more of my time to my studies. I want to leave my last semester of college on the best note possible. Some of the Singers have shared their own resolutions as well as some of their plans over school break. It's a great opportunity to get to know the troupe a little bit better. I hope everyone has a happy New Year and gets prepared for another wonderful year.

It is no secret that the Wisconsin Singers serve as the Official Ambassadors of Goodwill for the University of Wisconsin. The unique bit of trivia is that the Singers also served as the Official Ambassadors of Goodwill for the community of Louisville, Kentucky.

 

For four decades, Don Frank, former president of the Louisville UW Alumni Chapter, made sure the Singers travelled down to Kentucky every year to showcase their talents.
