WISCONSIN SINGERS TO APPEAR ON GMC'S NEW ORIGINAL SERIES

100 Groups from across North America will compete for America's vote and $10,000 in an
eight-night GMC summer series
Madison, WI (JUNE 22, 2011) - Multi-platinum recording artist Drew Lachey will host "America Sings," an eight-night summer series on GMC, America's favorite network for uplifting entertainment, featuring an appearance by UW Madison's Official Ambassadors of Goodwill - the Wisconsin Singers, on Wednesday, July 6.
"America Sings" features videos of singing groups from across the nation. Each week, Lachey shines the spotlight on new videos submitted by groups ranging from acappella, barbershop, doo wop, flash mobs, gospel and more. It is up to the television audience to decide who will win. The singing groups with the most votes will be featured in the special season finale, and the group with the most votes overall wins $10,000.
America Sings can be seen in the Madison area on channels 131 (Charter) or 338 (DirectTV) or viewed online at www.watchgmctv.com/sing following the program air time.
Votes for Wisconsin Singers must be made online between
8 PM CST on Wednesday, July 6 and before 11 PM CST, Sunday July 10th.
