Celebrations for One of Canada's 50 Best Employers!
| |

On March 27th, Coastal Community Credit Union brought together 600 employees for a gala celebration in being selected as one of Canada's 50 Best Employers for the second year in a row. Bringing together this employee group, and having branches open for business the next morning, was a mammoth task including planes, buses and limousines.
This year, Coastal Community hit the top 20 spot of Canada's 50 Best Employers according to the global consulting firm Aon Hewitt; their survey aims to measure employee engagement, defined as employees' emotional and intellectual commitment to their employer. Joyce Gwilliam, President of Insights Learning and Development (Vancouver) who was in attendance said, "I was humbled to see and hear the many references to Insights throughout the evening."

Bruno Dragani, Chief People & Administration Officer summed up their success. "Insights learning and development is a significant part of our journey in becoming a best employer in Canada. Six years ago a major change, brought on by a large merger, left the organization with a fragmented culture where company norms needed to be re-established. Insights learning provided the foundational leadership tools to help individuals better understand themselves. This then led to the creation of an organizational environment where employees began to take hold of creating new norms of respect, authenticity and the accepting of differences when dealing with one another.
Today we have 650 employees who can call themselves leaders. Their support and understanding of how to make a better world is directly linked to their ability to accept difference and change while honouring the gifts each individual brings to a team."
