| Greetings! | October is shaping up to be another very busy month around the Insights office. Our learning consultants are working with a number of clients on a wide variety of learning issues and we'll be hosting our Insights Discovery Accreditation session later this month as well. We're also finalizing plans for our regional conference coming up in December (more news about that below) as well as developing some new and exciting programs we'll be telling you about shortly. For now, here are a few items we'd like to share. If you have comments or questions, we'd love to hear from you. |
Vancouver IDA Over-subscribed
|
The Insights Discovery Accreditation scheduled for Vancouver this month (October 18-21) filled up early. In fact, the session was over-subscribed by early September with registrants already lining up for the IDA session in May, 2012. More and more organizations are eager to bring portions of the Insights system "in-house" by having on-site personnel accredited to deliver portions of the training. If your organization is looking for ways to support employees, strengthen teams and empower leaders from within, contact our office for details on the May Accreditation schedule.

December 5 Regional Conference
| |
Plans are underway for the 11th annual Insights Vancouver Regional Conference, scheduled for December 5th at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver.
As in years past, we've lined up a number of featured presenters (stay tuned to this newsletter and check our website for updates) and we'll once again offer crowd favorites like break-out sessions, updates from Insights global offices and case studies from colleagues and others in the Insights community.
Attendance is limited and registrations are already coming in so if you plan to attend - either as a first-time visitor or as a returning practitioner - we urge you to register now and avoid disappointment. The cost is just $139 and registering is as simple as visiting our website.

Congratulations Dora
| |
Over the years, we have the opportunity to work with many fine people who join the Insights family as Client Practitioners. Dora Celone Lee is one such person - and we would like to extend our congratulations on her retirement from the Office of the Comptroller General, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
Dora co-ordinated the first introduction to the Insights Discovery system at the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS), arranged for our direct delivery in a leadership program, and advocated for the first of several internal Insights Discovery Accreditations at CSPS. Dora continued her application of the Insights Discovery system when she moved to the Treasury Board. As her work moves to a conclusion, Dora has left a legacy. Here's what she had to say:
"I am proud to say that - all 250 from executives to staff, in all three sectors, have a constant visible reminder on their desk (four coloured blocks). They understand that each of us is unique and no two people see things the same way. This simple concept has allowed people to have a common language to talk about how they want to work together and leverage on the diversity that each member brings to their teams. We are embracing team diversity in OCG with authenticity and mutual respect; and all executives have Personalized Leadership Programs which has heighten their "self awareness and how to best impact on people to meet their business objectives".
Congratulations Dora, and Best wishes for the future.

Different Firms - Same Impact
| |
From time to time, we receive comments that capture the powerful learnings associated with the Insights system. After a recent session, we receive the following note.
I wanted to let you know that I shared by Insight Profile with my husband, who, incidentally, works for another company and had an Insights Profile completed last year. Last night we reviewed each other's profiles. I just thought you might like to know that the personal development tools that this exercise has provided us is not just for professional development, but has and will enhance how we connect at home with our 'family team'. The Insights Wheel puts me in the Director/Reformer position, and it puts him in the Observerer/Coordintor position. Understanding and discussing our energy dynamics has made us understand how/why we express ourselves in certain ways and why sometimes things works and sometimes things don't... and ultimately, how to do better for each other.
I just thought I would share a husband/wife team experience where we are both from different firms, but have gone through this fantastic energy modelling exercise.
Thank you so much.

Integrated Learning Strategies Captured in Video
| |
Many of our clients have a solid platform using the Insights Discovery system. Others are increasing their focus on building team effectiveness and developing effective leadership at various levels throughout their organizations.
On our website is a link to a short video that provides an introduction to the different paths you might take when incorporating Insights Discovery learning into your development plans. The video was produced by Insights global office in Dundee, and senior consultant Anne Bishop warns that "It is in Scottish". If you haven't taken a look at it yet, it is really quite informative and provides a real overview of the various ways you can use Insights to grow your organization.
