Killer Response: The Boxer's Bible of Counter Punching
Mark Hatmaker
Just got word that the next book in our ongoing Master Manuals series will be released in the Fall of 2012. The following is a teensy bit about what you'll find in that book.
Do you punch hard? Excellent!
Do you punch fast? Aces!
Can you punch hard and fast for extended lengths of time? Good for you!
Does that make you a boxer? Nope, not necessarily.
To most, punching prowess has become equated with boxing but, punching prowess alone is misleading. Yes, boxing skill consists of fast, powerful, consistent punching but, boxing is more about what you do in response to punches than punching prowess itself.
Punching is what you do to a heavy bag, or a double-end bag, or in a Toughman contest.
Boxing is what you do in response to that incoming flurry. How you make your opponent miss with a slight move of the head, how you defend easily with a flick of the wrist, and, most importantly, how you counter-attack.
This manual begins with giving you everything you need to know to build an extensive defensive base for boxing--every defense, for every punch, from every angle.
And then you will learn to build on that defensive base and educate pragmatic counter-boxing that is specifically triggered by your opponent's attack--in other words, his attack selects the mayhem you will unleash.
This manual will take you beyond the intermediate realm of tit-for-tat/your-turn, my-turn boxing into the upper echelons of crafty counter-boxing.
