Welcome to our Har Vagai Visitors!
Aria and Adi, Grade 9, happily reconnect with their Israeli peers
Reflecting on the experiences of the last four years, both here and in Israel, for students and teachers, it is evident that the impact of the "gesher chai/living bridge" between King David and Har Vagai is alive and continues to strengthen and deepen in an authentic way. Yesterday saw the arrival from Israel of 14 Har Vagai Grade 9 students, Principal, Dorit Shevach and Teacher, Chaya Moran. This is the largest delegation from Har Vagai to visit King David!

The students and faculty are being hosted by King David families and have already been warmly welcomed by members of the Vancouver community. The excitement is palpable and the joy the King David students are displaying at being able to reciprocate the hospitality they received in Israel is wonderful to see. While the trip strengthens the friendships created in Israel, the focus is educational. Today the students shared the celebration in the King David Sukkah with parents and students and spent time in our classrooms.

World Teachers' Day
"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative
expression and knowledge."
                                                ~ Albert Einstein.

Across the world today people are celebrating their teachers through UNESCO's World Teachers' Day.  We would encourage parents and students to celebrate with us our King David staff who give so freely of themselves to teach, to mentor, to learn with, to care for, to play with and to encourage and support your (our) children.  Why not send a note of thanks - today is the day (and today should be everyday!)

Head of School (HOS) Survey
A survey was emailed to a variety of King David's stakeholder groups on Thursday, September 27 asking for participation in our Board evaluation of Russ Klein, Head of School. Each stakeholder group survey has different questions so people may be receiving more than one survey to complete. We thank you in advance for taking the time to complete these surveys - each survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.  Thank you for your participation.

Grade 8 Family Shabbat Dinner
Sappir, Grade 8, reads her poem
Our theme for the evening is "Beginnings". Through poetry, students have been exploring and interpreting what this theme means to them personally. They are currently writing poems which they will present during the evening. Yesterday, in class, they read poems they had each selected.

Please join us for what promises to be a special evening.
