The World is Built with Chesed Psalms 89:3
|
"Everyday I can proudly say I see acts of loving kindness at King David. For the past few weeks our school community has been energized by a renewed awareness of the many forms of chesed performed within these walls and out in the community by our students." Russ Klein, Head of School
Last week, our school buzzed with a different look (no uniforms), level of activity and sound. This week's newsletter shares some of the remarkable activities that took place, many led by Grade 12 students with guidance from Shoshana Burton, Michael Gunion and Cheryl Buckman.

When asked to participate on the career panel I couldn't refuse, because I thought that the issues being discussed were things I could really connect with and hear about so often.

"We helped deliver library books to some some of the residents. We had a chance to interact with them and hear about their personal lives. We also shared a wonderful Oneg Shabbat with the seniors as they welcomed the peacefulness and tranquility of Shabbat with song and prayer," says David R., Grade 12

King David Alumni Pay it Forward!
| |
Brainwave was founded in January 2011 by Michael Grubner and Jonathan Simkin, two graduates of King David, along with fellow UBC student Davis Sam. At Brainwave, we believe all kids, no matter their social or economic background, should be inspired by learning. This is best accomplished through interactive experiences that engage kids' practical and imaginative abilities. We offer these experiences via field trips to UBC's chemistry and biology laboratories, Science World, and other local educational venues, complimenting their schooling with the opportunity to apply their knowledge outside the classroom.
