October is always a beautiful month in North Carolina, with perfect weather for getting out and about and having fun! And this October seems destined to outdo itself, with an unmatched variety of places to go and things to do in and around Anderson Creek Club. Click on live links below for event details! EVERY SATURDAY THROUGH OCTOBER: Come to the Sandhills Farmers Market, an open-air market from 9AM-2PM where local growers sell their fresh produce and hand crafters sell their items. Don't miss it! Free health screenings, too! SATURDAY, OCT 8, 11AM - 1PM: Howl-o-Ween Costume Contest. At the Fayetteville Technical Community College. Cumberland County Injured Animal Stabilization Fund and the Safe Havens Supervised Visitation Center invite all canines and their humans to a Howl-O-Week Costume and Adopt-A-Thon. There'll be a costume contest, bobbing for weenies, a most talented dog competition and more! NOW thru SUNDAY, OCT 9: The Gilbert Theater presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Show times vary - but there's a midnight show on Friday the 7th! NOW thru SUNDAY, OCT 9: The Cape Fear Regional Theatre presents Boeing, Boeing. Bernard's love life is a perfect balancing act: when one of his stewardess girlfriends touches down, the next one is already in the air. What could possibly go wrong? SATURDAY, OCT 15. 4th Annual Volksmarch and Festival at Spring Lake, beginning at 9 AM. Enjoy a day of German cuisine, live entertainment, a dog costume contest, hayrides, Kidz Korner, a pie eating contest and pumpkin sales and decorating. THURSDAY thru SATURDAY, OCT 20-22 and OCT 27-29: Historic Hauntings. This haunted hayride explores the eerie encounters and mysterious happenings of downtown Fayetteville. Ghostly re-enactors and story-tellers take you through historic Fayetteville's most infamous haunted locations. ********************************************* SATURDAY, OCT 22, 1 PM - 4 PM: Anderson Creek Club Fall Festival. Bring the kids and have a great musical Halloween fun time! Enjoy musical chills at the family friendly concert, which will feature spooky orchestral pieces such as the classical masterpiece Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky. FRIDAY, OCT 28: 4th Friday in Historic Downtown Fayetteville features the arts in all forms, for all ages. Families love it. Seniors love it. Teens love it. Arts supporters love it. And once you've been to a Fourth Friday, you'll love it too! FRIDAY-SATURDAY, OCT 28-29: Annual Storytelling Festival. Stories and music kick off this free, family event during Fourth Friday activities, Oct. 28 at 7 pm at Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane. The festival continues Saturday with arts and crafts in the children's area and Madubani Art workshops in the children's story room. Storytelling is presented throughout the afternoon in the Pate Room. NOVEMBER 3-20: The Cape Fear Regional Theater presents Miss Saigon.
