Hold, Director, The National Alliance Research Academy, and Jerry Montgomery's daughter will present the scholarships to the UCA student recipients at the UACIC Conferment Ceremony on the campus of UCA Wednesday, March 2, 2011.

The Center for Insurance Risk Management Studies at the University of Central Arkansas College of Business is celebrating another history-making accomplishment.

UCA is the first college or university in the nation to have students complete the requirements for the University Associate Certified Insurance Counselors (UACIC) designation. To celebrate this milestone, UCA and The National Alliance for Insurance Educationand Research are planning the UACIC Conferment Banquet to be held on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas Wednesday, March 2, 2011.

The conferment celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. in McCastlain Hall. Supporters of the Insurance and Risk Management Program at UCA and Certified Insurance Counselors(CIC's) from Arkansas and surrounding states are invited to join in this special celebration.

Dr. William T. Hold, CIC, CPCU, CLU, will be the UACIC Conferment Speaker.Dr. Hold is co-founder and President of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors(CIC), President of The National Alliance Research Academy, Chief Executive Officer of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR), and co-founder of Certified Risk Managers (CRM) International and the Certified School Risk Managers (CSRM) Program - all under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, with headquarters in Austin, TX.The Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) Program, founded in 1969, is the insurance industry's premier, proven source for practical, real-world education and is the initial offering of this not-for-profit insurance and risk management education organization. Dr. Hold was recently named to the prestigious Insurance Newscast's annual list of the 100 Most Powerful People in the Insurance Industry (North America) for the sixth year in a row. This recognition is given to the 100 people who have made the most significant contributions to the insurance industry and its customers, and innovations in the development and advancement of insurance products, services, and systems for the security, protection, and overall benefit of society.

Other special guests to UCA on this historic day include Commissioner Jay Bradford, Arkansas Department of Insurance; Bob Rogers, with the Jerry Montgomery Memorial Scholarship Fund; William J. Hold, Director, The National Alliance Research Academy; members of the University of Central Arkansas Board Trustees; and UCA faculty and administrators.

The National Alliance Research Academy and faculty in the Insurance and Risk Management Program at UCA worked diligently to design university insurance and risk management course curriculum that would allow students to earn credit toward the distinguished Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) designation and to obtain the University Associate Certified Insurance Counselor (UACIC) designation. The UACIC designation was created to give young professionals recognition for their hard work while also giving them a distinct advantage when entering the insurance and risk management workforce. The five-part CIC Program is recognized as the most practical education in the insurance industry, and demonstrates real-world knowledge in the following areas: Personal Lines, Commercial Casualty, Commercial Property, Life Health, and Agency Management.Students successfully completing the UACIC designation at UCA receive credit for the Commercial Casualty and Life and Health requirements of the CIC program. They have five years to complete the remaining other three parts of the CIC program.

According to Dr. Hold, "the UACIC designation is only available at universities with insurance and risk management departments with outstanding faculty."Holding the first UCACIC conferment program on the Campus of the University of Central Arkansas is a tribute to the quality faculty and students in the Insurance and Risk Management program at UCA.

We would like to make this the largest event in the history of the Insurance and Risk Management Program at UCA.Please attend as our guest and show your support for insurance education and the students in this program. The banquet and conferment ceremony will be held in McCastlain Hall on the Campus of UCA on Wednesday, March 2, 2010.The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Sincerely,
