Extraordinary and rare! These won't be online until tomorrow so if you can't wait call the shop at 707-265-0200.

Many of you know of my great fondness for oolong teas. I look for them at every turn and I try to find not only new examples but  especially exceptional representations of the classic styles.

On my latest trip to China over Thanksgiving week I was able to secure small quantities of the "four big famous cultivars" from Wu Yi! These teas are rarely seen outside of China, much less in the United States. Heck, good examples are not much seen outside for Fujian yet we have landed some of the best:

BaiJiGuan

Bai Ji Guan (White Cockscomb)  $69.95/100g      $17.75/25g

DaHongPaoHandCrafted

Da Hong Pao (Scarlet Robe) hand crafted $55.95/100g     $14.95/25g

ShuiJinGui

Shui Jin Gui (Golden Water Turtle) $39.95/100g        $10.25/25g

TieLuoHan

Tie Luo Han (Iron Arhat) $35.95/100g        $  9.25/25g

These are without question some of the world's finest oolong teas. For full descriptions and to order just click on the tea name.

But that's not all! From Taiwan we have Teamaster Deng's award winning Dong Fang Mei Ren (Oriental Beauty) from Miaoli County.

Mr. Deng is recognized throughout Taiwan for the superior quality of his teas and other producers flock to him to learn how to make these fine teas.

Stocks are limited: $69.95/100g and $17.75/25g.

I also have brought in a very small amount of 2010 Winter Lishan from my teacher (laoshi), Chen Huan Tang.

Laoshi's teas are anything but inexpensive but they are also without peer. This is a very traditionally made tea: ripe leaves, careful and slow oxidation and gentle roasting. The result is a balanced tea the likes of which are seldom seen.

$105.95/100g and $26.50/25g.

Did you know that....?

Many tea merchants sell Wu Yi Yan Cha - but no one does it quite like Tillerman. Whereas others use lesser cultivars such as "Rou Gui" (Cinnamon) or "Shui Xiang" (Water Fairy), our Wu Yi Yan Cha is a Da Hong Pao (Scarlet Robe), one of the "four big famous cultivars" from Wu Yi. That's why we add the words "reserve" to our offering! Only $31.95 for 100g and $8.25 for 25g.
