Also to the left is a link to our website which has our schedule and other useful information - we encourage you to bookmark the site for easy reference.

We also have included a link to our new Facebook page.  Become our Facebook friend and share the camaraderie and good fellowship that we have come to enjoy from our Oasis community.

We'd love your feedback about what sorts of information you would  like to be receiving from us so please e-mail amy@oasisforher.com with your suggestions.

Please feel free to share this newsletter with your friends by forwarding it to them here.Forward to a Friend  Don't forget that if you have a friend who joins Oasis you receive a free Stressbuster Massage!  (And it's a good time for your friends to join as we're running an 8th anniversary enrollment special!)

Move of the Month
walking lungeEach month we will feature a fitness tip or move suggested by one of our professional staff of personal trainers.  This month's tip is by our Fitness Director Kelly Bojan, CPT.

"One of my favorite moves is the Walking Lunge.  It effectively targets every muscle in the lower body and will give you a little cardio to boot.  When you perform lunges, use strict form and watch the knee alignment.  This exercise is a staple in most of our cardio and strength classes at the club and even though they are tough, they really get the job done!"

Do three to five sets of 20 steps and perform three times a week to see results!

1)Start standing with your feet hips width apart.  Keep abdominals tight.

2) Step your right foot forward and lift the back heel up; bend both knees so that your front knee is in line with your front ankle and your back knee is in line with your back hip and the back knee hovers an inch or so from the floor.

3) Contract the legs and step your left (back) foot in to meet your right foot.

4) Repeat with the left leg.

Summer is the time to take advantage of all that nature has to offer!  Fruits and vegetables abound and there is no limit to what you can do with them.  With all the activities of the summer, a quick and easy meal is satisfying to more than just your palate.  Enjoy the following simple but elegant summer salad (packed with antioxidants) with grilled chicken and/or a sprinkling of goat cheese for a full meal. Add a glass of chilled iced green tea (or Sauvignon Blanc!) and you're all set to sit outside, savor the flavor and celebrate your healthy self!

Simple Summer Salad - serves 4

1 cup butter lettuce

1 cup torn baby spinach

1 cup torn red leaf lettuce

½ cup sliced strawberries

½ cup sliced blueberries

½ cup mandarin orange segments, drained

¼ cup slivered almonds

Toss above ingredients together.  Top with warm or cold grilled chicken if desired or sprinkle with goat cheese.  Top with raspberry or balsamic vinaigrette.
