Greetings!

So it may be the middle of summer and the chilly days of winter may be the furthest thing from your mind, however now is a great time to be thinking about your winter getaways for this year.

With its endless sandy beaches, warm turquoise waters, and close proximity, Mexico is a fabulous way to bring the heat of summer into your winter blues. Read on to get some suggestions from Brooklyn, one of our MSRs, who was recently there scoping out great options for our members to enjoy.

We have also just brought on a number of ski resorts in some of the top ski destinations on the continent, including Vail, Aspen, Park City Utah and more.

Cheers,

Kevin & Shawna Walker

A highlight was getting to swim with the dolphins at Xel-ha
Brooklyn with Dolphin
My last visit to Mexico I was running around in pigtails and chasing Iguanas.  I was six years old and skipping out of Grade One for a week in the sun.  I think it's safe to say that a few things have changed since then.  My visit this time was strictly business as I visited Cancun to seek out the best places for our members to enjoy.  What I found reminded me a lot of Las Vegas (see our June Newsletter) and I was, well, surprised to say the least.  Though Cancun offers beauty, shopping, and delicious restaurants, I would recommend visiting a little bit south in the Playa Del Carmen and Riviera Maya area.

Day One of our visit began with a 60km bus ride to Xel-ha, Mexico's Natural Wonder. Xel-ha (pronounced Chel-ha) is an All Inclusive stunningly beautiful outdoor park.  Whether you would like to snorkel with the sting rays, cruise down the lazy river...

Our Recommendation

The Hilton Cancun is the only golf resort in Cancun.
Hilton Cancun Golf
If I were to recommend a visit to Cancun I would encourage staying near the south end of the strip at the Hilton Cancun.  This gem is Cancun's only golf and spa resort and is located on the quieter end of the strip only 15 minutes from the Cancun Airport.  Be sure to check out this months Travel Gems section because the Hilton Cancun has some amazing offers for Discovery Club Members.

While in Cancun don't miss out on the Crab House Restaurant.  As many know Cancun is known for it's food and we had the pleasure of dining on the outside patio at the Crab House while indulging in some of the best gourmet seafood in Cancun!  During our meal we had a visit from two menacing looking crocodiles and enjoyed a little 'dinner show' as the Manager fed them some fish scraps.  The clap of their fierce jaws closing shut made you instantly glad for the 15 foot distance between the deck and the daunting creatures.

From my experience there are pros and cons to both locations and as long as you are able to endure the humidity then Mexico will make the perfect sunny getaway for you and your loved one or the entire family!

5 Things the Discovery Club Learned in Seattle...

No, it wasn't where the first Starbucks is, or whom the Mariners were playing that week (although we did go to a game) we're talking about how potential members in Seattle, Washington felt about the Club. They had comments, questions, and concerns that we took the time to address. Here is a brief recap:

1.    The Great Recession is NOT over.
People are hurting. People are scared. People have become more aware of how they spend their money. Our presentation allows for our team to engage in meaningful dialogue with people. Over dinner, the crowd opened up and detailed their current financial woes and stories of distress. The American economy clearly hasn't faired through this recession as well as Canada has. The Discovery Club is a high-end product that caters to a select group of people who have a luxury travel lifestyle. It is not a product for everyone.

2.    "I'm too old for the Discovery Club."
You are never too old to travel well. People over the age of seventy were concerned about their age and getting value out of a membership. There are two very important things to address here:
·    Our membership has a 5-year money back guarantee. If someone is concerned about how much longer they will be alive then they can exercise (or someone in their will) this offer.
·    Membership can be willed or gifted. Your Discovery Club membership lives on to whomever you leave it to. As long as dues are being paid the membership is good.

3.    Timeshare is for the Birds
30% of the room usually comprised of disgruntled timeshare owners. People were sick of blackout dates, difficulty booking, and being constrained to one destination. Plain and simple, timeshare cannot deliver the flexibility, freedom, and value that the Discovery Club can. In addition, we also know that timeshare resale values are brutally low and the majority of them cannot be sold. The crowd was impressed by our offer to buy their current timeshare at over market value, and apply this amount to a membership.

4.    "Why don't I just invest the money myself?"
With a minimum investment of $50,000 many people questioned this commitment. But in order to get the rates we have access to, investors would have to earn approximately 20% returns (after tax) in the markets to pay for their vacations. Simply put, if you can earn this return we would like you to be our financial planner! The Discovery Club ensures that you get the best possible value on your membership, and if you travel 4 or 5 star regularly there is no question you will save time, money, and be treated like a VIP for the rest of your life. The Club makes sense for this particular audience.

5.    "Can I Speak to a Member?"
Social proof is always a big factor in a large ticket purchase. We like to consult with others to affirm or disprove our decision-making. The answer is YES. We have a large roster of satisfied members who are more than willing to speak with potential members. If you are interested in having this conversation please let us know. In addition, we welcome people to speak with the law firm that represents the Club on behalf of members to attest on our financial health.

Education is the biggest issue the Discovery Club faces, and any opportunity to answer questions is always welcome. Should you have any of your own, check out our FAQs, or better yet - call us today and learn more about our innovative concept.
