Cheryl and her birds

Cheryl Cambras, born and raised in the Nebraska Sandhills, makes sculpture and movies in Los Angeles. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her creations have been featured in the New York Times, Lucky Magazine, Good Housekeeping and Craftstylish. Her work has been displayed and collected both domestically and internationally. Skilled in Amigurimi, the japanese art of crocheting in the round, she has redefined the meaning of cuteness with her sweet and whimsical toys. Cheryl recently created a large installation of crocheted birds for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). She teaches crochet and knitting classes at galleries, yarn shops and park benches around LA hoping to help spread the love for all things handmade.
