THE POWER OF FOCUS
"Energy and persistence conquer all things." Benjamin Franklin It's been said in LIFE, and proven, you get what you FOCUS ON. This rule applies from getting a job to find you LIFE'S MATE, to building a business or winning awards.
There is this story of a man that moved near the edge of this great forest teaming with wildlife. Now the man liked birds and went about putting up bird feeders around his back yard, so that he could not only feed the birds but enjoy them.
But to his dismay, it was not long before squirrels were swing from the feeds, and chasing the birds away from the food. He knew that if you could not keep them from scaring the birds away soon, there would be no birds for him to enjoy. So this man declared WAR on the squirrels, and for two weeks everything he try did not work.
Not knowing what else to do, other then shoot them, he went down to the local hardware store and bought a GUARANTED SQUIRREL-PROOF BIRD FEEDER.
He bring it home and put it together and installed it in the back yard, thinking that this has solved his problem. When in a hour, the squirrel were back eating the food and scaring the birds.
Madder then hell, he take this GUARANTED SQUIRREL-PROOF BIRD FEEDER back to the store and not only wants all his money back but demands to talk to the manager.
Well the old manager, listen to what he had to say, and said "son, I will be more then glad to give you back your money, but if you had asked me yesterday I would have told you that there no one has ever build a squirrel-proof bird feeder."
With that being said the man, looked the old manager in the eye and said; "Are you telling me that we can put a man on the moon, get TV and send messages instantaneous via satellite make cars to run on water. With more of the brightest scientists and engineers that ever lived, living today. They have not design a feeder that could outsmart an animal with a brain the size of a pea."
"YEP" replayed the manager.
"WHY NOT." asked the man.
"Let me ask you something sir," said the manager. How much time on the average over the last two weeks, have you spend thinking of ways to keep the squirrels out of your bird feeds?"
"Maybe ten to fifteen minutes a day." he answer.
"Let me ask you this, HOW much time do think the squirrels spend each day trying to get in." asked the manager.
The manager went on to tell this man that squirrels spent 98% of their waking time, looking for food. In fact they are a very unique animal, in that they would rather eat, then procreate. Think about the kind of FOCUS that the squirrel binges to his mission to get food. He would prefer foraging for food then fooling around with the opposite sex.
How much FOCUS do you put into what ever it is, that you want to GET? Maybe ten to fifteen minutes a week or less. Now I don't want you be a squirrel, but don't you think that if it worth something to you that you should put in no less then one hour a day FOCUSING on how to get it.
